In just a matter of hours 2020 will be over and a new year will be upon us. We are all hopeful that 2021 will bring an end to the pandemic, a functioning and competent federal government, and an end to the countless economic and health challenges of the past year. While the new year will begin with just the passing of time, many of the challenges of 2020 will take both time and effort to change.

LGBTQ+ Arizonans are ready for the challenges ahead. We are resilient, like the desert we live in, able to weather difficult years like 2020. In 2021 we will have many opportunities to heal our state from the past year and to work for a future where equality is real for every Arizonan. There are many challenges ahead, but challenges have never stopped us. As LGBTQ+ people we have met great challenges before, and we know that real change begins with each of us.
